The Morton Arboretum
A Champion of Trees.
Firmly rooted in science and splendor, the Morton Arboretum has stood tall for more than 90 years as the champion of trees. Majestic, towering, glorious trees―their quiet power and grace breathing new life into a hectic world.
When the Morton Arboretum—a 17,000-acre “living tree museum” and research powerhouse in suburban Chicago—needed communications expertise to support a $63 million campaign, leadership selected Marts & Lundy Communications.
Our team worked with the Arboretum to develop the campaign theme, Growing Brilliantly, and a messaging platform that made the case for why trees play such a powerful and essential role in our lives, as does the Morton Arboretum.
We brought a human face to the campaign with a series of profiles featuring horticulturists and conservationists whose work embodies the Arboretum’s mission to study, protect and share trees as a testament to the genius of nature and a gateway to a greener, healthier world.
By the Numbers.
Money doesn’t grow on trees. That’s why The Morton Arboretum launched a five-year campaign to expand its conservation work and spruce up its sprawling grounds and facilities. Growing Brilliantly has been a brilliant success to date, securing the three biggest gifts in the Arboretum’s 95-year history.
