Case development is more than just creating a great story and beautiful materials (although we certainly do that!). It’s essential strategy too — offering an opportunity for engaging people, thinking deeply about brand and aspirations, and making critical priority decisions.
Alison is the Managing Director of Offord Group, Marts & Lundy’s Canadian firm, as well as the lead of Offord’s communications practice.
Alison’s 30-year career has spanned all aspects of advancement — communications, campaign, alumni relations, and fundraising. She was the founding Vice-Principal, External Relations, at Greenwood College, a start-up independent school in Toronto. Prior to Greenwood, she managed the alumni relations office at the University of Toronto, and began her career at her alma mater, Queen’s University, working on the alumni magazine and in communications.
Alison is on the Board of Trustees at Queen’s University, where she also serves on University Council and the External Relations and Development Committee. She is also on the boards of Toronto’s Child Development Institute Foundation and Montcrest School.
And when she's not working...
Alison gets to live on the beautiful lakeside campus of Appleby College, an independent school just outside Toronto, where her husband is the Principal (she firmly believes she refrains from offering unsolicited advice). She deludes herself that she is a cool mom to her three kids — two at university, one in high school. Alison still harbours the dream of having someone pay her to read books.
